Thank you. I plan to travel from Tokyo to Matsumoto and next day from Matsumoto to Kyoto.
Are these 2 travels also covered by JR Green pass?

Seat reservation can be done by scanning the QR code on your JR Pass at any Shinkansen ticket machine. Another option is to visit your nearest JR Office and they will do it for you. Both options are free with a JR Pass.

JR trains are included in the JR Pass and you do not have to pay anything extra to use them.

The Green Pass can be used on the Tokaido Shinkasen between Tokyo and Kyoto as well as between Kyoto and Osaka.

Hi, you can use the MIyajima ferry with the JR Pass, ther eis no other ferrys included however.

As for the busses, there are multiple JR busses that can be used, but it is not valid on express or highway bus routes.

JR bus lines included with the pass:
JR Hokkaido Bus
JR Bus Tohoku
JR Bus Kanto
JR Tokai Bus
West Japan JR Bus
Chugoku JR Bus
JR Shikoku Bus
JR Kyushu Bus
Hiroshima Sightseeing Loop Bus

JR bus lines excluded from the pass:
Express and highway bus routes operated by JR Bus companies are not included.

Hi, the temporary visitor visa is provided by the staff checking your passport and has nothing to do with the automatic gates. You will get the temporary visitor visa upon arrival as there is no fast track past that stage at the airport – nothing to worry about 😊

Can i not book before

Hi LaJacks, seat reservation is done at any JR station using the Shinkansen Ticket machines, or at any JR desk.
Both options are free of charge and included in your Japan Rail Pass.
